SSASs
Small self-administered [pension] schemes are
established by companies to provide a pension
vehicle for company employees. A SSAS can have
a number of sub-funds, each belonging to a different
employee who may decide how his or her "pot" is
invested. In addition to quoted and unquoted securities,
SSASs may invest in commercial property and are
often used by directors to buy the premises in
which the employer company carries on its business.
With effect from 2005, SSASs will be able to invest
in residential property. Reyker Securities provides
securities dealing and custody facilities to SSAS
participants.
